Yasu!

With downtown Waltham just a few minutes from my office, the team travels a few times a month to a great sushi joint there - Yasu.

The first time we ate there for a team outing we might have ordered 1/2 of the menu.
The roll selection was unbelievable. Here are some favorites:
  • Crazy - while a two-bite roll, the spicy tuna and shrimp combo is not to be missed.
  • Honey - I'm not sure why this is called Honey - there isn't any honey in the roll, and it isn't particularly sweet, but it is great. Ebi, asparagus and avocado is a winning combo.
  • Rainbow (of course) - their version of this classic is fantastic.
  • Sweet Potato - no fish to be found in this dish, but the tempura fried sweet potato topped with eel sauce is wonderful.
  • Volcano - now this is a new sushi experience for me - crab salad, avocado, cucumber topped with what - baked scallops in a spicy sauce! A-mazing.
  • Wonderful - just as is sound - smoked salmon with cucumber and avocado TOPPED with more salmon. Yum.
In addition to the other traditional rolls, of course. The fish is fresh, and orders come quick. Perfect for a lunch time stop with coworkers.

As for other menu items to take a look at, make sure to try the edamame, shumai (steamed is my own preference) along with the seaweed salad.

Check them out by visiting Yasu here

Yup, this place is so good we went again today :) For new faves - the Fusion roll is fantastic. Tuna, eel and avocado! Yeah for Yasu!
