Since moving to Boston I've started enjoying more beers with meals, rather than when living in DC where I would more often enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail. Boston just isn't a cocktail town. BUT! The Flirty Baker's hope has been restored by a recent visit to the W Hotel's bar for some modern cocktails. Along with the other cocktails-forward establishments down the east coast you could find your fair share of herb infused beverages. My favorite of which was the Orange Elderflower Cosmo.
Also on the menu are plenty of fruity beverages (yes, for all of you crazed pomegranate fans they have a fab pomegranate & blueberry cocktail - the Pomegranate Fizz - that's perfect to cool you off given the temperature in the bar). Pear, raspberry and pineapple all make their appearances as well.
So while it isn't a great cocktail bar from New York or DC, it brings some flavor to the amber, stout and porters of my recent dining experiences.
